KW Suspensions 2nd Place at Formula Drift, Round 5 – Las Vegas ( 08.26.2010 )
Sweltering daytime heat didn’t deter Drift Teams, Vendors or Fans from attending an amazing event in Las Vegas.
KW Suspensions was proud to be on hand to offer support to our racers as well as field questions from anyone attending that needed to know why KW Suspensions and the sister brand ST Suspensions, continue to be the choice of many of the top teams. Those who stopped by the booth were impressed by the quality of the product on hand and were looking to spec out kits for their street cars as well.Â
Once the sun set behind the mountains, the real fun began, T-shirt Cannons to Jet-cars, Punk Rock Bands to Poster Models, the vendor area has it all and a little something for everyone! With the familiar notes of the National Anthem in the air, the sell out crowd packed the stands.
Tire Smoke filled the air as motors shrieked and cars were flung sideways at triple digit speeds. Since this was a night time event some of  the cars have really evolved into functional light shows with LED strips, and my personal favorite downward facing lights in the rear to amplify the rolling white tire smoke!
When the brake dust settled and the tire smoke cleared, Tyler McQuarrie was the victor over Discount Tire and KW Suspensions supported Daijiro Yoshihara when Dai’s motor decided that it just had enough of bouncing against the rev limiter in the heat of the desert all day and called it a night. The crew wrenched on the car for the allowed five minutes, but the problem couldn’t be sorted out that quickly and Tyler gained his first hard earned victory this season, taking the top spot in an all Falken podium.
If you consider yourself a gear-head, racer or just car enthusiast and haven’t had the pleasure of attending a drift event, make plans now for Round 6, Point of Impact in Sonoma California, September 10-11, you will not be disappointed, as it is quite a show. Stop by the booth, check out our coil over lines, and say hello while you are there!
