KW at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 ( 01.12.2009 )
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 took place from January 9-11, 2009 at the Mahuhari Exhibition Center. KW attented the show on a 150 sqm booth in cooperation with its importer Hashimoto. Highlight of the show have been a Nissan GT-R with KW Clubsport suspension, KW HLS (Hydraulic Lift System), LSD Doors, Kahn forged wheels, Seibon carbon fibre hood and trunk, as well as a BMW M3 GTR Widebody in KW CI colors and KW 3-way adjustable race suspensions.
Another highlight of the show has been the new study of the Honda NSX from Honda Mugen.
Impressive have also been the tuning styles which are not known in Europe such as VIP style, which means extremely modified mainly big Japanese luxury limousines and also the extremely modified mini vans.
Many more exhibitors had eyecatching cars with KW coilover suspensions at their booth as for example:
- Maserati Quattroporte with KW street comfort and a BMW M5 with KW Variant 3 at Toyo Tires
- Mini, Audi TT, BMW 135i with KW Variant 3 at Blitz AG
- BMW X6 with KW Variant 3 at Club Linea
- Porsche 997 with a KW Variant 3 and special setup made by KW
- BMW Mini Challenge race car with 2-way adjustable racing suspension at Dunlop
- VW Golf R 32 with KW Variant 3 at Voomeran
- VW Touran with KW Variant 3 at HALT
In the outdoor area was the first 2009 D1 Drift Grand Prix Kick off Demo with impressive drift action from the superstars of D1 Grand Prix such as Kumokubo from Team Orange and his famous orange Subaru WRX.
A very special guest has been visiting the KW booth: Formula D Superstar Daijiro, who is driving a KW racing suspension in his race car.
